How to Install the ST2MT Gripper Replacement Kit
Step-by-step guide for replacing the gripper in the ST2MT tool to restore performance.

Tools needed:
1/8" Hex Wrench, Safety Glasses
Supplies needed:
Gripper Pin, Gripper, Gripper Compression Spring, General-purpose lubricant, Grease
- Remove the old gripper
Wear safety glasses. Remove the support ring and support ring pin from the stationary handle. Use the 1/8" hex wrench to remove the gripper pin and take out the old gripper and compression spring.
- Install the new gripper
Apply lubricant to the new gripper pin and grease to both ends of the new compression spring. Insert one end of the spring into the new gripper and place the gripper into the mount, aligning the holes. Insert the gripper pin through the aligned holes and thread it in 2-3 turns without tightening.
- Reassemble the tool
Position the handle return spring between the spring tabs on both handles. Close the handles while holding the spring in place, then fasten the tool nose with the two screws and tighten. Release the handles and check for free movement of the gripper, tightening the gripper pin fully if necessary.
- Complete the installation
Insert the support ring pin back into the stationary handle and re-install the support ring to complete the installation.
