How to Install the PZICEA In-Ceiling Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the PZICEA In-Ceiling Enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Utility knife, Drill
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Grommets, Electrical junction box, Ceiling tile template, Tak-Ty rolls
- Prepare the ceiling
Use the ceiling tile template to mark the cutout area on the ceiling tile. Secure the template with tape or thumbtacks and cut along the outline with a utility knife.
- Mount the enclosure
Install four threaded rods to the building structure at the corners of the enclosure. Use nuts and washers to secure the rods above and below the support brackets, ensuring the enclosure is level.
- Install the electrical junction box
Mount the electrical junction box to the side of the enclosure using four #10-32 thread cutting screws. Ensure that all electrical components are installed according to local building codes.
- Connect the grommets
Determine the entry/exit points for cables and remove the corresponding knockouts. Install grommets from inside the enclosure to protect the cables.
- Route the cables
Route the incoming and outgoing cables through the installed grommets, allowing for a minimum of 14 inches of slack to ensure the door can open and close properly.
- Install active equipment
Adjust the mounting brackets to accommodate the depth of the active equipment. Secure the equipment to the brackets, maintaining a minimum gap of 1/2 inch for airflow.
- Manage patch cords
Plug in patch cords from the switches to the patch panels, routing them through the integrated horizontal slack manager. Secure the cables using Tak-Ty rolls.
