Supplies needed:
New gripper, Gripper housing screw, Removable Threadlocker
- Connect the air supply
Attach the air hose to the KPPTMT tool and activate the air supply to 85 PSIG (5.9 bar).
- Remove the old gripper
Place the tool face down on a table with the nose area to the left. Remove the gripper housing screw and discard it. Squeeze and hold the trigger to actuate the tool halfway, making the gripper housing assembly accessible.
- Install the new gripper
While holding the trigger, remove the existing gripper housing assembly and replace it with the new one, ensuring it is correctly oriented on the cylinder shaft. Release the trigger.
- Secure the new gripper
Apply a small amount of removable threadlocker to the threads of the new gripper housing screw. Fasten the gripper housing assembly with the screw and torque it to 55 in-lbs.
- Inspect the tool
Visually inspect the movable parts and gripper teeth for any metal chips or debris. Ensure these areas are clear of foreign matter.
