This guide provides step-by-step instructions for removing and installing the gripper assembly in the K4MTG tool.

Supplies needed:
New gripper assembly, New roll pins, Alignment pin
- Remove the existing gripper assembly
Lay the tool on a hard flat surface with the tension indicator facing upward. Use the supplied punch and hammer to drive out the two existing roll pins from the gripper assembly. Squeeze the trigger handle while lifting the gripper assembly up and pivot it out of the nose area.
- Install the new gripper assembly
Insert the new gripper assembly by squeezing the trigger handle while positioning it onto the tension rod. Pivot the gripper assembly into place.
- Secure the gripper assembly
Align the holes of the gripper assembly with the holes of the tension rod. Insert the supplied alignment pin into one of the gripper assembly holes and through the tension rod hole. Then, insert a new roll pin into the other hole and drive it in using the punch and hammer until flush with the gripper assembly surface.
- Complete the installation
Remove the alignment pin and install the second roll pin using the same procedure as in Step 3.
