How to Install the HUB-8 Broadband Pedestal

- Dig the installation hole
Dig a 10" deep hole that is 2" wider than the pedestal base around the incoming cables. Install a ground rod per local codes (not provided).
- Position and secure the pedestal stake
Position the pedestal stake in the back of the hole so the pedestal will surround the incoming cables and ground rod. Drive the pedestal stake into the ground until only 2" to 2.5" are above ground level.
- Attach the pedestal backbone
Align the pedestal backbone with the stake, ensuring approximately 8" of the backbone is below ground level. Attach the pedestal backbone to the stake using the included hardware. Prepare cables and perform all remaining bonding and grounding procedures.
- Install grounding components (if required)
If a ground rod is required, mount a Panduit ML4T-CY lug to the ¼” hole on the angled portion of the grounding bar using stainless steel hardware (not provided). - Reassemble and secure the bottom cover
Reassemble the bottom cover, ensuring it is in the lowest position by fully seating the bolts into the slots on the pedestal backbone. Tighten all bolts securely using a 3/8" nut driver.
- Backfill and add gravel
Backfill the space around the pedestal with soil, ensuring the top 4" of the bottom cover remain above ground. Pour gravel inside the pedestal up to ground level. Finalize all necessary splicing.
- Re-install the top cover
