How to Install the MPO Splice-On Connector
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the MPO Splice-On Connector for Bare Ribbon and 3mm Round Fiber.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Fusion Splicer (Type-Q101-M12), Fiber Cleaver (FC-6RM), Jacket Remover (JR-6), Fiber Holder (FHM-12 or FHM-8), Fiber Alignment Tool (FA-03), Cord Tool (LYNX2-CORDTOOL-2&3), Kevlar Cutter
Supplies needed:
Disposable Holder, Dust Cap, Protection Sleeve, Adhesive, Mending Tape
- Prepare the Fiber
Mark the fiber cord at 150mm from the end and use the Cord Tool to create a slit in the outer sheath.
- Cleave the Fiber
Remove the coating using the Jacket Remover, then cleave the fiber using the Fiber Cleaver ensuring no gaps are present.
- Set Up the Splicer
Set the fiber holder on the splicer, ensuring the fiber is placed correctly on the V-groove without bending.
- Perform the Arc Test
Push the power key for more than 1 second to turn on the arc test and follow the instructions to complete the test.
- Fusion Splice the Fiber
Place the MT stub on the holder, perform the fusion splice, and confirm the position before heating the protection sleeve.
- Finalize the Assembly
Slide the protection sleeve onto the MT stub, remove the dummy cap, and secure the Kevlar stopper to complete the installation.
