- Prepare for Installation
Disconnect the printer from the electrical outlet before beginning any installation or removal of the cutter. This is a critical safety measure to prevent electrical hazards.
- Remove Printer's Tear-off Plate
Fold down the existing tear-off plate on the printer. Pull the axles of the tear-off plate out of their holders and then completely remove the tear-off plate from the printer.
- Mount the DP4300M-CUT Cutter
Align the snap arm of the cutter with the guide on the printer. Push the cutter's axles into the corresponding holders on the printer. Fold up the cutter until it securely snaps into place on the printer.
- Load Material into the Cutter
Fold down the cutter. Place the media strip or labels between the printhead and the drive roller, ensuring the front edge of the strip extends through the cutter slot. Guide the labels into the slot and then fold up the cutter.
- Power On and Perform Synchronization Cut
Switch on the printer. The cutter will perform a synchronization action. Press the 'Feed' button (represented by a button icon in the manual) on the control panel to move the media forward and perform a synchronization cut.
- Adjust Cutter Settings via Easy Mark Plus Software
Open Easy Mark Plus labeling software. Select 'Print Document', then choose your printer and click 'Properties'. Navigate to 'Accessories Options', select the 'Perforator' option, and adjust the cutter settings as desired for your print job.
- Adjust Label Sensor Settings via Printer LCD
Access the printer's Start menu. Select 'Setup' then 'Labels'. Under 'Label sensor', choose the appropriate method for detecting the label's start, such as 'Gap Sensor', 'Bottom-Reflect', or 'Continuous media' if using continuous label material.
- Adjust Cut Position via Printer LCD
From the printer's Start menu, select 'Setup' then 'Cutting'. Adjust the 'Cut position' parameter to set the offset of the cut relative to the rear label edge. Note that software settings are added to this value.
- Enable and Use 'Cut on Demand' Mode
From the printer's Start menu, select 'Setup' then 'Printing'. Set 'Print on demand' to 'On'. Send a print job. Press the 'Feed' button to print and cut the first label, and press it again for each subsequent label you wish to print and cut individually.
- Clean the Cutter
For cleaning, first disconnect the printer from the electrical outlet. Carefully remove the cutter from the printer, being mindful of the sharp blades. Clean the cutter using a PTR-CLN cleaning kit. Once cleaned, reattach the cutter securely to the printer.
