Supplies needed:
A2-56RF-C copper compression connector, Copper wire
- Select the correct connector
Choose a A2-56RF-C connector that is marked for the specific wire size and material you are using. Never use a copper connector on aluminum wire.
- Prepare the wire
Strip the wire insulation to the approximate length specified in the tool chart. Ensure you do not nick or ring the conductor strands. Clean the wire after stripping.
- Insert wire into connector
Insert the stripped end of the wire into the A2-56RF-C connector until the wire stops.
- Crimp the connector
Using the appropriate crimping tool and die set, insert the connector into the die. Crimp the connector by evenly spacing the compressions on the barrel. Begin crimping near the tongue end of the lug and continue toward the wire end. Refer to the tool chart for the required number of crimp zones.
- Verify crimp (if applicable)
If using a tool and die set that embosses a die index number (e.g., KC22 dies), inspect the crimped barrel to confirm the die index number is present for post-crimp verification.
