Overview

The NSI Industries 250-MSRT, part of the Bridgeport Fittings Mighty-Seal line, is a patented 1/2 inch EMT connector designed for efficient and reliable termination of Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) to boxes, devices, or enclosures. This connector offers a significant installation advantage, requiring no tools and a simple push-on action, resulting in up to 75% faster installation times compared to traditional methods. Its removable design adds flexibility to your project planning. Engineered for demanding conditions, the 250-MSRT is UL listed for use in wet locations and is certified raintight, ensuring a secure and protected connection even when exposed to the elements. The rugged all-steel construction, electro-zinc plated for corrosion resistance, guarantees durability. A key feature is the integrated nylon insulator, which protects conductors during wire pulling, reduces pulling effort, and prevents thread damage. This insulator is thermoplastic, U.L. rated to 105°C. The connector's locknut design ensures a positive bond between the conduit and the fitting, and between the fitting and the box or enclosure, assuring ground continuity. The extended reach of the locknut is specifically designed to secure the fitting onto thin boxes or enclosures. This fitting conforms to UL 514B, CSA C22.2 No. 18, NFPA 70-1999 (ANSI), NEMA FB1, and Federal Specification W-F-408 standards, and its threads conform to Federal Standard H-28. It is ideal for applications requiring a raintight connection between EMT and enclosures, or for coupling ends of EMT. The Mighty-Seal connector is a time-saving, robust solution for ensuring secure and protected electrical connections in various environments. SKU: 250-MSRT.

How to Install the Mighty-Seal™ Push-EMT™ Connector

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Mighty-Seal™ Push-EMT™ Connector for use in wet locations.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Reaming/deburring tool

Supplies needed:

Mighty-Seal™ Push-EMT™ Connector, Knockout gasket, Locknut

  1. Prepare the EMT

Cut the Electrical Metallic Tubing (EMT) squarely and thoroughly remove all burrs using a reaming/deburring tool to ensure an evenly chamfered outer edge.

  2. Install the connector

In one motion, slightly rotate and firmly push the Mighty-Seal™ Push-EMT™ Connector onto the EMT until it reaches the conduit stop (minimum of ½ inch). Do not rotate the EMT more than a ¼ turn.

  3. Secure the connector

Remove the serrated locknut and position the knockout gasket on the outside of the enclosure. Insert the fitting into the knockout and tighten the locknut hand-tight plus ¼ turn.
