Supplies needed:
Rated wiring connectors, Access covers
- Disconnect power
Ensure the power to the luminaire is completely disconnected to avoid electrical shock during installation.
- Remove access covers
Take off any lamps and access covers on the luminaire to expose the ballast and supply wires.
- Connect the male side
Using rated wiring connectors, attach the line (black leads) and neutral (white leads) of the male side of the disconnect to the appropriate ballast leads, ensuring correct connections as marked 'load'.
- Connect the female side
Using rated wiring connectors, attach the line (black leads) and neutral (white leads) of the female side of the disconnect to the appropriate incoming supply leads, ensuring correct connections as marked 'line'.
- Mate the disconnect halves
Before mating, ensure a positive latch by pressing the latching member on the female side down and releasing it. Then, mate the male and female halves together until you hear an audible click.
- Reinstall covers and lamps
Replace any access covers and reinstall the lamps that were removed earlier.
- Energize and test
Restore power to the circuit and confirm that the luminaire is functioning properly.
