This guide provides instructions for installing the K650SRA Deadbreak Straight Receptacle Adaptor, which converts a 600amp bushing interface to accept an in-line cable connector rated 15kV or 25kV.

Tools needed:
5/8"-11 tap (if stud is present), Torque wrench, Wrench/socket for 5/8" brass bolt
Supplies needed:
Contact Adaptor, Lubricant, Brass bolt, Bushing converter, Loctite, HV insulated cap(s) or connector(s) (if replacing shipping covers)
- De-energize Apparatus
DANGER: Ensure all apparatus in the work area are de-energized during installation or removal of any parts. Do not touch or move energized products. All deadbreak connectors must be de-energized before operating.
- Inspect Components
Check the contents of the package to ensure they are complete and undamaged. Verify all components for proper fit with the cable and/or mating products.
- Prepare Bushing (If Applicable)
If a stud is present in the apparatus bushing, remove the stud. Then, re-tap the hole using a 5/8"-11 tap.
- Clean and Lubricate Interfaces
Clean and lubricate the apparatus bushing and the bushing converter interface thoroughly.
- Assemble Bushing Converter
Carefully assemble the bushing converter onto the apparatus bushing.
- Prepare and Attach Contact Adapter
Apply 3-4 drops of Loctite to the threads of the brass bolt. Assemble the contact adapter to the apparatus bushing, ensuring the bolt hole faces out, using the 5/8" brass bolt.
- Torque Brass Bolt
Torque the 5/8" brass bolt to 60 ft.-lbs. to secure the contact adapter firmly.
- Replace Shipping Covers (If Applicable)
If this product was supplied with protective shipping cover(s), remove them. Replace these shipping cover(s) with the appropriate HV insulated cap(s) or connector(s) before submerging or energizing the circuit.
