Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting hardware, Grounding lug (if mounting surface is insulating), 14 AWG minimum ground wire, Silicone lubricant
- Determine location and drill mounting holes
Select the desired location for the junction assembly. Drill holes in the mounting surface according to the dimensions provided in the documentation. Ensure the holes are the correct diameter for mounting.
- Assemble and mount the well junction
Assemble the well junction, shield plate, and hold down brackets using the supplied fasteners. Attach the assembly to the flat mounting surface. Tighten all fasteners securely to prevent movement during operation.
- Ground the assembly
Ensure the shield plate, hold down brackets, and black conductive rubber shield are properly grounded. If the mounting surface is conductive and grounded, no additional grounding is needed. If the mounting surface is insulating, attach a grounding lug (not provided) with one of the mounting bolts and connect a 14 AWG minimum ground wire to the lug and a ground bus.
- Prepare for operation
Remove any protective shipping caps from the operating interfaces and clean them. Apply silicone lubricant (do not substitute) to the operating interfaces before assembly with an ELASTIMOLD product. If not all operating interfaces will be utilized, install an ELASTIMOLD insulated cap or insulated plug on the unused interface(s) before energization. Do not use the protective shipping covers for this purpose.
