How to Install the FPT445-SW-BRN Poke-Through Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FPT445-SW-BRN poke-through fitting, ensuring proper wiring and sealing for electrical and data connections.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Pliers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Putty, Silicone sealant, Gasket, Grommet
- Prepare the Installation Site
Ensure that all electrical power is disconnected. Core a 3" diameter hole through the floor and insert the through-floor fitting, making sure the locating bracket is flush with the concrete floor.
- Feed Wires and Secure the Fitting
Feed the power wires into the power side of the poke-through, leaving a maximum of 4" of wire above the floor. Fill the inside of the poke-through device with the supplied putty around all wires and attach the device to the mounting plate.
- Install the Power Divider and Tele/Data Cables
Hook the tele/data cables around the notch in the poke-through device. Insert the power divider into the top of the poke-through device, ensuring that power wires are separated from tele/data cables.
- Attach the Mounting Plate
Replace the 1/4" thick carpet and cut a 5-1/4" hole in the carpet over the poke-through. Feed the tele/data cables into the mounting plate and attach the mounting plate to the poke-through with the provided screws.
- Seal and Secure the Cover
Install the gasket between the cover and base plate. If tele/data cables are used, cut holes in the gasket for the cables. Attach the cover to the base plate with the provided screws, ensuring a maximum torque of 8 lbs.-in.
- Apply Sealant for Water Exclusion
Apply a continuous bead of silicone sealant around the mounting plate underneath the base plate to ensure scrub-water exclusion. Attach the base plate to the mounting plate with the furnished screws.
