Estimated time: 45m
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Core drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Conduit fittings, Temporary cover screws
- Prepare the Installation Site
Determine the location for the poke-through installation, ensuring it is at least 4-1/4 inches from any wall or pillar. Mark the position for a 6-3/4 inch diameter hole.
- Drill the Hole
Cut a 6-3/4 inch diameter section from the floor covering (carpet, wood, tile, or linoleum) and core drill a 4 inch diameter hole in the concrete below.
- Insert the Base Unit
Insert the base unit into the drilled hole and push down until the screws in the temporary cover contact the concrete floor. Ensure it is not rotated after insertion.
- Install the Cover
Verify that the finished floor is cut to match the 6-3/4 inch diameter opening. Install the FFPT4 series cover according to the provided instructions, ensuring it is fully seated.
- Make Electrical Connections
Remove the plugs from the base unit and install the appropriate conduit fittings. Connect the electrical wiring as required.
- Finalize the Installation
Complete the installation by securing all components and ensuring the cover is properly sealed to the floor. If installed directly on concrete, grout the outer edge of the flange.
