How to Install the FLOOD-SEAL® FS-95 Connector Kit
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the FLOOD-SEAL® FS-95 Connector Kit, including preparing the cable, cutting the sleeve, and connecting the terminal. WARNING: Danger of Electric Shock! Installation must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable local, state and national electrical codes, installation standards and safety rules.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Cable cleaning tool, Pencil, Cutting tool, Crimping tool, Wrench or socket set
Supplies needed:
FLOOD-SEAL® FS-95 Connector Kit, Cable, Electrical lug, Bus bar, Silicone grease
- Clean the Cable
Clean the cable thoroughly before installing the rocket sleeve to ensure proper contact and sealing.
- Pencil Cable Insulation
Pencil the cable insulation as required for the specific application and connector type.
- Select Correct Cut Ring
Refer to the cable range indicated by raised numbers on each cut ring of the sleeve. Match the conductor size being installed to the correct ring for your cable.
- Cut Rocket Sleeve Tip
Carefully cut off the tip of the sleeve up to the selected ring. The proper cut will ensure the required conductor range is visible on the sleeve.
- Lubricate and Install Sleeve on Cable
Lubricate both ends of the rocket sleeve and the cable with silicone grease. Hold the cable at an angle to the sleeve's opening and twist the rocket sleeve while pushing it onto the cable until it is fully seated.
- Compress the Lug
Compress the electrical lug onto the prepared cable using an appropriate crimping tool to ensure a secure electrical connection.
- Slide Sleeve onto Lug and Bus
Slide the rocket sleeve over the lug and onto the shoulder of the bus. Continue pushing until the rocket sleeve butts firmly against the rubber of the connector bar.
- Bolt the Terminal
Securely bolt the terminal to the bus bar, ensuring all connections are tight and meet specified torque requirements.
