How to Install the FLOOD-SEAL FS-95 Connector Kit (Force Fit Type)
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Thomas & Betts FLOOD-SEAL FS-95 Connector Kit, Force Fit Type, applicable for various conductor sizes including CFG 8 CS. WARNING: Installation must be performed by trained installers in accordance with all applicable electrical codes and safety rules.
Estimated time: 15m
Tools needed:
Crimping tool, Utility knife, Wrench
Supplies needed:
FLOOD-SEAL FS-95 Connector Kit, Cable/Conductor, Silicone grease
- Clean the Cable
Clean the cable thoroughly before proceeding with the installation of the rocket sleeve.
- Mark Cable Insulation
Pencil the cable insulation to prepare for the next steps.
- Identify Correct Cut Ring
Refer to the cable range indicated by raised numbers on each cut ring of the sleeve. Match the conductor size being installed to the correct ring.
- Cut Rocket Sleeve Tip
Cut off the tip of the rocket sleeve up to the selected ring. Ensure the proper cut leaves the required conductor range visible on the sleeve.
- Lubricate and Install Rocket Sleeve on Cable
Lubricate both ends of the rocket sleeve and the cable with silicone grease. Hold the cable at an angle to the opening and twist the rocket sleeve while pushing it onto the cable until it is fully seated.
- Compress the Lug
Compress the lug securely onto the cable using an appropriate crimping tool.
- Slide Rocket Sleeve Over Lug
Slide the rocket sleeve over the lug and onto the shoulder of the bus. Ensure the rocket sleeve butts firmly against the rubber of the connector bar.
- Bolt Terminal to Bus
Bolt the terminal securely to the bus, ensuring a tight and reliable connection.
