Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Caulk or sealant

  1. Prepare the installation site

Ensure the power is turned off. For concrete floors, prepare a 6-inch minimum pour depth at the box location. For wood or tile, trim the sub-floor to a 4-3/4” diameter hole.

  2. Mount the floor box

Insert the bottom of the Floor Box Unit through the Tab windows of the Bottom Device Plate. Slide the Tabs back through the Slots of the Floor Box Unit and secure using the provided screws. Tighten screws with a snug fit without over-tightening.

  3. Install the data plate

If data jacks are required, install the Data Plate. If not, install the Blank Data Cover Plate. Ensure that the data cavity is not left exposed after the final installation.

  4. Route data cables

Route the data cables through the divider assembly, ensuring they are on one side only. Use appropriate fittings for conduit or NM sheathed cable.

  5. Seal the installation

For wood or tile floors, apply a continuous bead of caulk or sealant around the top of the finished floor just outside the opening. For carpet, cut a 5-1/4” diameter hole and apply caulk to the exposed surface of the sub-floor.

  6. Finalize the installation

Align the cover with the alignment tabs of the floor box and secure it. Ensure all connections are tight and verify with a multimeter that the installation is correct before restoring power.
