This nVent enclosure is an ideal solution for a wide array of industrial applications, including: * **Control Panels:** Housing complex control systems for manufacturing lines, automation processes, and machinery. * **Power Distribution:** Protecting electrical distribution equipment and junction boxes in harsh conditions. * **Instrumentation:** Safeguarding sensitive measurement and monitoring devices. * **Networking Equipment:** Providing a secure and protected environment for industrial network infrastructure. Industries that commonly rely on enclosures of this caliber include automotive manufacturing, food and beverage processing, water and wastewater treatment, chemical plants, and general industrial automation. The nVent brand is synonymous with quality and reliability in the enclosure market, offering peace of mind that your valuable assets are protected by industry-leading engineering and manufacturing standards. How to Repaint a Hoffman Enclosure

Guide on preparing and repainting Hoffman enclosures with TGIC polyester powder coating.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

180 grit sandpaper, 220 or 240 grit sandpaper (optional), Solvent, Paint manufacturer's recommended tools

Supplies needed:

TGIC polyester powder coated Hoffman enclosure, Paint compatible with TGIC polyester powder coating, Primer (if recommended by paint manufacturer)

  1. Prepare the Surface

Thoroughly sand all enclosure surfaces with 180 grit sandpaper. If sanding marks are objectionable, finish sanding with 220 or 240 grit sandpaper. Wet wipe all surfaces with a solvent to remove any possible contaminants. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing the paint for adhesion.

  2. Select Appropriate Paint

Choose a paint that exhibits good adhesion properties over polyester powder. Recommended types include two-component epoxies, some two-component polyurethanes, and alkyd baking enamels. If using alkyd finishes, do not bake at temperatures exceeding 150°F to avoid discoloration.

  3. Apply Paint

Apply two or three medium to light coats of paint. Allow two to three minutes flash off between coats. Allow paint to cure adequately according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.

  4. Test Adhesion

After the paint has cured adequately, test the paint for adhesion. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing.

  5. Test Repainting Process

NOTICE: Always test the repainting process on an inconspicuous area prior to full application.
