The ABB 68-PAR Adjusting Ring (SKU: 68-PAR) is a non-metallic, high-strength rigid PVC component engineered for flush service floor boxes in power and communications/data distribution systems. Designed by ABB Installation Products, this adjusting ring delivers reliable performance in demanding industrial and commercial environments where corrosion resistance and electrical insulation are critical. The 68-PAR is pre-packaged with essential accessories, including a pigtail for grounding, a gasket for secure sealing, and four metal clips for attachment, ensuring a complete and ready-to-install solution. Key specifications include a 100 cubic inch capacity with a 6-inch depth, an opening diameter of 5-5/32 inches, and a base diameter of 6-3/8 inches. The ring supports standard-scheduled PVC conduit and features (4) 3/4-inch and (2) 1-inch conduit tapping options, providing flexibility for various wiring configurations. It includes (4) 3/4-inch to 1/2-inch reducing bushings and (2) 1-inch to 3/4-inch reducing bushings, simplifying installation with no leveling required. The 68-PAR is compatible with multiple floor types, including concrete, carpet, tile, and wood applications, making it a versatile choice for flush service installations. Its non-corrosive construction ensures long-term durability, while the rigid PVC material provides excellent electrical insulation. The adjusting ring is designed for use with ABB’s 68PFL, 68PFLAL, P60, and P68 series floor boxes, supporting single duplex or data/voice wiring devices. Ideal for commercial buildings, data centers, healthcare facilities, and industrial plants, the 68-PAR Adjusting Ring meets the demands of modern electrical and data infrastructure. How to Install the 68-P Floor Box

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 68-P floor box, including mounting, wiring, and sealing procedures.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, PVC cement, Caulk or sealant

  1. Prepare the installation site

Cut the top surface of the floor box or extension to be 1/8 inch below the finished floor height to ensure a flush installation.

  2. Mount the floor box

Level and fasten the box to the form or set it on a level surface. If using an extension, snap both halves together and cement to the top of the 68-P box.

  3. Make conduit connections

Connect the conduit to the box outlets, ensuring to seal any unused box hubs with blank conduit plugs using a 1/4 turn method.

  4. Insert the plastic cap

Place the plastic cap into the top of the box or extension prior to pouring concrete to prevent ingress.

  5. Apply PVC cement

Apply PVC cement to the outside edge of the adjusting ring and the top inside edge of the floor box. Press the adjusting ring into the floor box, rotating it back and forth until it is securely in place.

  6. Seal the installation

Caulk or seal all gaps around the trim ring and floor surface to block water entry, especially on wood or tile floors.
