How to Install the 5353SST6HT Liquid-Tight Flexible Metallic Conduit Fitting
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for properly installing the 5353SST6HT 3/4 inch NPT 90-degree liquid-tight flexible metallic conduit fitting, ensuring a secure and sealed connection to an electrical enclosure.

5353SST6HT Liquid-Tight Flexible Metallic Conduit Fitting, 3/4 inch Liquid-tight flexible metallic conduit, Seal gasket (T&B Part No. 5263), Locknut (T&B Part No. LNSS/075), Electrical box or enclosure
- Prepare Conduit
Cut the end of the flexible metallic conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a hacksaw with 32 teeth/inch or a power band saw (24-32 teeth/inch, max 400'/min). Avoid using abrasive wheels, as they are not recommended.
- Assemble Fitting Components onto Conduit
Slide the gland nut onto the prepared conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone onto the conduit end, ensuring it is properly seated.
- Mount Fitting to Enclosure
Insert the threaded body of the fitting through the knockout hole in the electrical box or enclosure. On the inside of the box, place the seal gasket (T&B Part No. 5263) over the fitting's threads, then thread the locknut (T&B Part No. LNSS/075) onto the fitting.
- Secure Locknut
Hand-tighten the locknut against the box wall. Then, further tighten the locknut by an additional 1/4 turn using a hammer and a standard screwdriver or an equivalent method to ensure a firm and secure connection to the box wall.
- Tighten Gland Nut
Tighten the gland nut onto the fitting body to the UL recommended value of 500 lb-in (56.5 N-m). Use a torque wrench to achieve the specified torque for a liquid-tight and dust-tight seal, preventing moisture and dust ingress.
