This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling and installing the 5343SST6 stainless steel liquid-tight fitting with flexible metallic conduit, ensuring a secure and sealed connection for optimal performance.

5343SST6 Stainless Steel Liquid-Tight Fitting, Liquid-tight Flexible Metallic Conduit, LNSS/075 Locknut, 5263 Seal Gasket
- Prepare Conduit
Cut the end of the flexible conduit with a clean, square cut. Use a metal jig if available for precision. Employ a sharp hacksaw with a 32 Tooth/In. blade, or for high production, a power band saw with a 24-32 Tooth/In. blade operating at no more than 400 feet per minute. DO NOT USE AN ABRASIVE WHEEL, as it can damage the conduit.
- Assemble Fitting
First, slide the gland nut (part of the 5343SST6 fitting) onto the cut end of the flexible conduit. Next, slide the nylon sealing ring onto the conduit. Finally, thread the SAFE-EDGE® ground cone into the conduit end until it is securely seated.
- Mount Fitting to Enclosure
For knockout applications, insert the main body of the 5343SST6 fitting through the prepared hole in the box wall. Place the Series 5263 seal gasket against the box wall on the outside, ensuring a liquid-tight seal. Then, secure the fitting from the inside with the LNSS/075 locknut. Hand-tighten the locknut, then further tighten it 1/4 turn with a hammer and a standard screwdriver or an equivalent method, as per UL, CSA, and NEMA recommendations. The recommended torque for the locknut is 110 lb-in (12.4 N-m).
- Secure Conduit to Fitting
Tighten the gland nut onto the fitting body, compressing the nylon sealing ring and securing the conduit. Tighten to the UL recommended value of 500 lb-in (56.5 N-m) for the 3/4" NPT fitting. Ensure the connection is firm and provides a liquid-tight and dust-tight seal.
