This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the 3900BP Signal Reference Grid Clamp, designed to firmly secure bare grid wires to support posts in a raised floor area.

3900BP Signal Reference Grid Clamp, Grid wire
- Prepare the Support Post Surface
Clean the support post surface thoroughly, ensuring it is free of dirt, paints, electrical tape, rust, or any other material that could create an insulating layer between the bare wire and the bare post. The clamp is designed for 1” round or 3/4” square trade size support posts.
- Position the Clamp on the Support Post
Slip the 3900BP clamp around the vertical support post, ensuring its slot faces upward. If installing on a smaller 3/4” square trade size post, hand-hold the clamp to prevent it from rotating downward prematurely.
- Prepare and Secure the Grid Wire
If the grid wire has insulation, remove it from the section that will connect to the support post to ensure bare wire contact. Lay the bare grid wire into the clamp's slot. While holding the wire firmly at the bottom of the slot, tighten the screw using a nut runner hand wrench, ratchet wrench, or screwdriver. The clamp will rotate slightly downward during tightening to secure the grid wire firmly against the support post.
- Observe Caution
Do not use this clamp for grounding fault currents. This clamp is specifically designed for signal reference grid applications and is not intended for fault current grounding.
