How to Install the 35MTB3-T Bracket Assembly
This guide provides instructions for mounting the 35MTB3-T bracket assembly to a cross arm, supporting a premolded rubber terminator and cable. Ensure all apparatus are de-energized during installation to prevent serious injury or damage.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Wrench, Socket Set
Supplies needed:
Connector Grip, Mounting Bracket, 3/8 x 5 inch Carriage Bolts with nut and lockwasher (x2), 3/8 x 1 inch LG Hex Bolt with nut and lockwasher (x1), 1/2 x 1 inch LG Carriage Bolt with nut and lockwasher (x1), Weatherproof Plastic Tape, Suitable Grounding Connector
- Attach Mounting Bracket and Connector Grip
Attach the mounting bracket to a wooden cross arm using the two 3/8 x 5 inch carriage bolts. Secure the connector grip to the mounting bracket with the 1/2 x 1 inch carriage bolt. Feed the cable through the connector grip, ensuring sufficient cable length is allowed for mounting the terminator (refer to terminator instructions).
- Apply Weatherproof Plastic Tape
Apply weatherproof plastic tape approximately two inches from the bottom end of the wire grip. Tightly wrap the tape with a one-half tape width overlap, moving down the grip approximately one inch onto the cable. Reverse direction and wrap back up to the starting point, stretching the tape to approximately one-half its original width when taping the wire grip.
- Install the Terminator
Install the terminator onto the cable and connector grip assembly. Refer to the specific terminator instructions for detailed installation procedures, as these are not covered in this document.
- Ground the Assembly
Ground the concentric neutral from the cable, the electrostatic drainwire from the terminator, and the mounting bracket. Use a suitable grounding connector (not supplied) attached to the mounting hole and bolt provided on the mounting bracket.
