Aluma Form bracket for crossarm mounting for all voltage class use with PCT-1 or PCT-2 terminators
35-MTB3-A
Kellums bracket for crossarm mounting fits overall cable O.D. from 1.195 inch to 1.625 inchHow to Install the 35MTB4-T Bracket Assembly
This guide details the installation of the 35MTB4-T bracket assembly, which provides a means of mounting a pre-molded rubber terminator directly to a riser pole and supports the weight of the cable entering the terminator.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Wrench or Socket Set, Wire Strippers, Crimping Tool (if required for grounding connector)
Supplies needed:
Pole-mounting bolts (proper size, not supplied), Weather-proof plastic tape, Suitable grounding connector (not supplied), Pre-molded rubber terminator
- Mount Bracket and Connector Grip
DANGER: Ensure all apparatus is de-energized and do not touch or move energized products. This installation must be performed by competent personnel trained in high voltage electrical equipment. Inspect all components for damage and compatibility. Attach the pole-mounting bracket to the desired mounting surface using proper size bolts (not supplied). Then, attach the connector grip to the pole-mounting bracket using the supplied 1/2” x 1” carriage bolt. Feed the cable through the connector grip, allowing sufficient cable length for mounting the terminator.
- Apply Weather-Proof Tape
Apply weather-proof plastic tape approximately two inches from the bottom end of the wire grip. Tightly wrap the tape with a one-half tape width overlap 'down' the grip approximately one inch onto the cable. Reverse direction 'up' and wrap back to the starting point. Stretch the tape to approximately one-half its original width when taping the wire grip.
- Install the Terminator
Install the pre-molded rubber terminator according to its specific instructions. Ensure proper fit and connection with the cable and bracket assembly. Refer to the terminator's dedicated installation guide for detailed steps.
- Ground the Assembly
Ground the concentric neutral from the cable, the electrostatic drainwire from the terminator, and the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket is provided with a mounting hole and bolt for attachment of a suitable grounding connector (not supplied). Ensure all grounding connections are secure and meet local and national work rules.
