How to Install and Configure QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray Sections

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for modifying and connecting QUICK TRAY PRO™ cable tray sections, including cutting, forming bends, and creating elbow connections for custom cable management pathways.

Estimated time: 2h

Tools needed:

Hoffman Side Action Bolt Cutter (QTPBC), Wrench or Socket Set

Supplies needed:

QUICK TRAY PRO™ Cable Tray Sections, Splice Kits (QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK), Splice Washers (QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK)

  1. Cut Cable Tray Sections

Determine the required cuts for your configuration. Use the Hoffman side action bolt cutter to make precision cuts. First, cut the top side wire at an angle away from the new end, resting the jaws on the cradle wire. Repeat for remaining side wires, then turn the tray over and cut the bottom wires similarly. Ensure each cut is clean to prevent sharp edges and corrosion.

  2. Form a 90-Degree Bend

At the desired bend location, cut the necessary side and bottom wires as indicated by the cutting pattern for your tray width. Turn the tray on the uncut side and smoothly bend it until the inside edges closest to the uncut side meet. Secure the bend using QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers, fastening at the indicated locations.

  3. Assemble an Elbow Connection

For each tray section intended for the elbow, cut the side wires according to the specific cutting pattern for your tray width. Align the wires of the two prepared tray sections at the desired angle. Fasten the joint using two QTPBNWK/QTPBNWKBLK Splice Kits and QTPSSW3/QTPSSW3BLK Splice Washers for each joint. For adjustable angles, use one splice kit and one splice washer, ensuring each splice washer covers two bottom wires.
