Overview

The nVent KBAU5MBNCWCLE is a brass cable gland designed for hazardous locations, specifically for armored cables in Ex d/e/tb applications. Manufactured by nVent, this gland (SKU: KBAU5MBNCWCLE) offers secure and reliable cable entry into enclosures. It provides essential strain relief and sealing against dust and moisture, with an IP66/68 ingress protection rating. The durable brass construction ensures corrosion resistance in harsh industrial settings. Its M50x1.5 metric thread size ensures compatibility with standard equipment. Certified for Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22, it meets ATEX and IEC standards (IEC/EN 60079 series, UL2225). The gland operates reliably within a temperature range of -40°C to 100°C (-40°F to 212°F) with its chloroprene seal. Each metric thread cable gland kit includes a chloroprene washer, a locknut, and an earth tag for simplified installation. This gland is suitable for flameproof (Ex d), increased safety (Ex e), and dust (Ex tb) applications, making it ideal for industries like oil and gas, chemical processing, and mining.
  • Suitable for SWA (steel wire armored), AWA (aluminum wire armored), SWB (steel wire braid), STA (steel tape armored), & shielded cable in flameproof (ex d), increased safety (ex e) and dust (ex tb) applications
  • Allow for double sealing of cable and jacket with upper and lower seals
  • The swivel retainer and grounding cone are adhered to the gland body by the o-rings to prevent any loose parts; to remove, simply pull these components slightly to detach
  • All metric thread cable glands are packaged as kits and includes a chloroprene washer, locknut and earthtag
  • All NPT thread cable glands are packaged as kits. Each kit includes a locknut and earthtag (except for NPT 3/8-in. cable glands which do not include locknut and earthtag)
  • Available in Metric (M) and NPT (N) thread type
  • Operating temperature from -40 C to 100 C with chloroprene seal and -60 C to 130 C with silicon seal
