Overview

The nVent KBAU5NBNCLE is a brass hazardous location cable gland engineered for armored cables in Ex d/e/tb applications, ensuring secure cable entry, strain relief, and sealing for enclosures in potentially explosive gas and dust atmospheres, including Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 environments. Certified to ATEX and IECEx standards, this gland delivers IP66/68 ingress protection, safeguarding against dust and water ingress in demanding conditions. Constructed from high-quality brass, it provides exceptional corrosion resistance, making it ideal for harsh industrial settings where durability is critical. The NPT 1 1/2" thread size ensures broad compatibility with a wide range of enclosures and cable systems. Designed for use with steel wire armored (SWA), aluminum wire armored (AWA), steel wire braided (SWB), steel tape armored (STA), and shielded cables, this gland offers versatile installation options. It is supplied as a complete kit, including a locknut for secure attachment and an earthtag for grounding continuity. The operating temperature range spans from -40°C to 100°C, supported by chloroprene seals for reliable performance in extreme conditions. Proudly manufactured in the USA, the KBAU5NBNCLE meets stringent quality and safety requirements for global hazardous location applications.
  • Suitable for SWA (steel wire armored), AWA (aluminum wire armored), SWB (steel wire braid), STA (steel tape armored), & shielded cable in flameproof (ex d), increased safety (ex e) and dust (ex tb) applications
  • Allow for double sealing of cable and jacket with upper and lower seals
  • The swivel retainer and grounding cone are adhered to the gland body by the o-rings to prevent any loose parts; to remove, simply pull these components slightly to detach
  • All metric thread cable glands are packaged as kits and includes a chloroprene washer, locknut and earthtag
  • All NPT thread cable glands are packaged as kits. Each kit includes a locknut and earthtag (except for NPT 3/8-in. cable glands which do not include locknut and earthtag)
  • Available in Metric (M) and NPT (N) thread type
  • Operating temperature from -40 C to 100 C with chloroprene seal and -60 C to 130 C with silicon seal
