How to Install the Top-Mount Filter Fan

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing a top-mount filter fan in an enclosure, ensuring proper airflow and cooling.

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, M6 hex nuts, Gasket, Air filter

  1. Prepare the enclosure

    Apply the cutout template to the top of the enclosure at the desired location. Cut out the hole in the enclosure carefully.

  2. Install the filter fan

    Remove the cowl top from the top-mount filter fan. Apply the gasket to the enclosure, then insert the filter fan over the gasket into the cutout hole. Secure it with M6 hex nuts and torque to 35 in/lbs (4 Nm).

  3. Wire the filter fan

    Follow the wiring diagram provided to connect the filter fan. Ensure all connections are secure and verify the wiring with a multimeter.

  4. Install the air filter and cowl top

    Install the air filter around the filter fan and re-install the cowl top to complete the installation.

  5. Verify clearance

    Ensure that the installed filter fan and grilles have a minimum clearance of 7.00 inches (178 mm) from any obstruction.
