Overview

Optimize your industrial wiring installations with the nVent F88LE9B 90-Degree Lay-In Wireway Inside Opening Elbow. Engineered by nVent, a trusted leader in electrical enclosure and connection solutions, this robust elbow (SKU: F88LE9B) is designed for seamless right-angle transitions in your wireway systems. Constructed from durable mild steel and finished in a neutral gray, it offers exceptional longevity and resistance to common industrial environments. The unique 'Lay-In' design of this elbow, along with other components in the F88LE series, provides unparalleled installation flexibility. Unlike traditional wireway fittings, lay-in systems allow for the cover to be oriented in any direction, significantly simplifying the routing of cables and conduits. This specific 90-degree elbow is crucial for creating clean, efficient turns, ensuring that the 'lay-in' feature is maintained even at sharp angles. This preserves the ease of access for future maintenance or modifications, a critical advantage in dynamic industrial settings. Key benefits and features of the nVent F88LE9B include: * **Versatile 90-Degree Turns:** Facilitates precise right-angle changes in wireway runs, essential for complex layouts. * **Lay-In Accessibility:** Maintains the core benefit of lay-in wireway, allowing for easy cable insertion and removal without disconnecting other components. * **Durable Mild Steel Construction:** Provides robust protection for electrical wiring against physical damage and environmental factors. * **Gray Finish:** Offers a professional aesthetic and good visibility in industrial environments. * **8.00x8.00 Size:** Specifically designed to integrate with 8x8 inch nVent F88LE series wireway components, ensuring a perfect fit and system integrity. * **Manufacturer Reliability:** Backed by nVent's extensive experience and commitment to quality in electrical infrastructure solutions. This 90-degree elbow is indispensable for applications requiring efficient cable management in manufacturing plants, data centers, power generation facilities, and other industrial environments where reliable and accessible wiring is paramount. The ability to maintain the lay-in feature at corners simplifies installation, reduces labor costs, and enhances the overall maintainability of the electrical system. When selecting components for your wireway system, choosing the correct elbow ensures that the system's intended functionality, particularly the ease of wire access, is preserved throughout the entire installation. The nVent F88LE9B is engineered to meet these demanding requirements, offering a reliable and efficient solution for your critical infrastructure needs.
  • Lay-in Hinged-Cover 90-Degree Elbows are used for right-angle wireway installations
  • Because sections of lay-in wireway can be mounted with covers oriented in any direction, three different 90-degree elbows are available
  • Proper selection allows the user to maintain the same access and thereby preserve the lay-in feature for right-angle installations
  • Maintains lay-in accessibility for simplified wire insertion and maintenance.
  • Ideal for industrial electrical installations requiring efficient cable management.

How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and sealing a Lay-In Wireway for effective cable management.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Sealing plates

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the installation details.

  2. Seal the joints

After installing the wires, seal each joint between sections using either the LSGQR fitting method or the 90° angle sealing plate method as described in the installation details.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the control enclosure for the wireway entry, position the box connector and gasket inside, and install a sealing plate as specified in the installation instructions.

  4. Adjust telescope fitting

Assemble the compression ring, gasket, and retainer on the telescope fitting, insert it into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length before securing it.

  5. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used to support the wireway, drill .25 inch diameter holes and install screws with cap nuts and lockwashers to secure it.
