How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and assembling the Lay-In Wireway, ensuring proper sealing and support.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wrench, Drill

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Wire connectors

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the installation details.

  2. Seal the joints

For joints between lay-in sections, position the LSGQR fitting, leaving out the top flange screw on the hinge side. Install with a shoulder bolt through the flange and ensure gaskets are visible from above.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the control enclosure as specified. Position the box connector and a gasket inside the enclosure, then install a 90° angle sealing plate between the wireway section and the enclosure.

  4. Adjust telescope fitting

Assemble the compression ring, gasket, and retainer on the telescope fitting body. Insert it into the straight section and adjust to the desired length, ensuring the gasket is properly positioned.

  5. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used vertically, drill .25 inch diameter holes through the sides and bottom of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  6. Calibrate the wireway

After installation, verify that all connections are secure and that the wireway is properly aligned and level. Use a multimeter to check for continuity if the wireway is used for grounding.
