Overview

The nVent F66W60SS is a 6.00 x 6.00 x 60.00-inch straight section feed-through wireway designed for continuous wireway runs. Constructed from brushed AISI 304 stainless steel, this component provides corrosion-resistant protection in wet, corrosive, or washdown environments. The Type 4X enclosure rating ensures watertight and dust-tight performance, meeting NEMA Type 4, 4X, and 12 standards. The feed-through design allows wires to pass through enclosures without bending or stress, simplifying installation and maintenance. With a 7.62-inch (194 mm) opening diameter and 60-inch (1524 mm) length, it accommodates standard wireway configurations. The brushed finish resists fingerprints and scratches while maintaining a professional appearance. Common applications include food and beverage processing, marine environments, chemical plants, and wastewater treatment facilities where moisture and corrosion resistance are critical. This component integrates seamlessly with other nVent wireway systems for scalable, modular installations.
  • Feed-Through Stainless Steel Hinged-Cover, Type 4X Straight Sections are used for enclosing wire and cable in wireway runs
  • Its water-proof and stainless steel features makes it suitable for frequently hosed down, very wet or highly corrosive applications
  • The traditional closed-loop design has an opening on one side for easy access to wires and cables
  • Sections are available in lengths from 12 inch to 120 inch
  • For modification and customization, Type 316 stainless steel covers and bodies available upon request

How to Install the Feed-Through Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the Feed-Through Wireway, ensuring proper assembly and secure connections.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Lockwashers

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Install the telescope fitting

Assemble the telescope fitting parts in the correct order, insert the body into the straight section, and adjust to the desired length. Ensure the gasket is properly positioned against the flange.

  3. Anchor the telescope fitting

Drill .25 inch diameter holes through each side of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws from the outside and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.

  4. Cut the wireway to length

Cut the wireway body to the desired length, ensuring a square cut. Weld an extra flange to the body and grind off any burrs or sharp edges.

  5. Install the swivel nipple

Position the wireway section, flange gasket, swivel ring, and swivel nipple in the correct order. Secure with clips, screws, and nuts as detailed.

  6. Make box entries

Cut out the necessary openings in the enclosure for the box connector and install the connector flange and gasket inside the enclosure, ensuring proper alignment.

  7. Verify grounding continuity

If the wireway is to be used for grounding, ensure that provisions are made for grounding continuity across all fittings.
