How to Install the Lay-In Wireway Sealing Plates

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for assembling and installing sealing plates for lay-in wireway systems.

Estimated time: 30m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill

Supplies needed:

Shoulder bolts, Closure plates, Gaskets, Mounting screws

  1. Assemble sections or fittings

Assemble the wireway sections or fittings as shown in the provided figure. Ensure not to insert the top flange screw on the hinge side.

  2. Install the quick release sealing plate

Install the quick release, flat sealing plate by inserting the shoulder bolt through the flanges. Leave the plate in the open position similar to the hinged covers.

  3. Install wiring

Proceed to install the wiring within the assembled wireway sections.

  4. Install the 90-degree angle sealing plate

Install the 90-degree angle sealing plate as illustrated in the figure. For box entries, assemble a closure plate or join the lay-in wireway to the regular wireway, ensuring to drill the flange of the regular wireway using the upper angle plate as a template.

  5. Use connector flange for cutout

When entering a control enclosure or box with the lay-in wireway, use the connector flange as a template for the cutout. Place a gasket inside and between the lay-in section and the control enclosure or box.
