The nVent F44LE45B 45-Degree Inside Opening Lay-In Elbow (SKU: F44LE45B) is a precision-engineered component designed for seamless integration into continuous wireway systems requiring precise 45-degree directional changes. Manufactured by nVent, a global leader in electrical and thermal management solutions, this elbow ensures uninterrupted cable management while preserving the lay-in access feature critical for right-angle installations. The 4.00x4.00 inch gray steel construction delivers robust durability and corrosion resistance, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments where reliability and longevity are paramount. Key Features and Technical Advantages: - **Lay-In Hinged-Cover Design**: The hinged cover allows for easy cable insertion and removal without disassembly, significantly reducing installation and maintenance time. This feature is particularly valuable in applications where frequent access to wiring is required, such as manufacturing plants, data centers, or commercial buildings. - **45-Degree Inside Opening**: The inside-opening design maintains consistent cable routing and minimizes stress on conductors during directional changes. This configuration is essential for maintaining signal integrity and reducing the risk of cable damage in high-performance electrical systems. - **Versatile Orientation**: Unlike standard elbows, the nVent F44LE45B is engineered to accommodate three distinct orientations, enabling professionals to align the lay-in feature with the direction of the wireway run. This flexibility ensures that the elbow can be seamlessly integrated into complex routing scenarios without compromising accessibility. Typical Applications and Industry Use Cases: The nVent F44LE45B is widely utilized in a variety of industrial and commercial settings where continuous wireway systems are employed. In manufacturing facilities, it facilitates organized cable management for machinery and automation systems, reducing clutter and improving operational efficiency. Data centers rely on this elbow to maintain optimal airflow and cable organization, which is critical for cooling and performance optimization. Additionally, commercial buildings, hospitals, and educational institutions benefit from its ability to streamline electrical infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety and accessibility standards. Installation and Selection Considerations: Selecting the correct elbow for a wireway system is crucial to maintaining the lay-in feature and ensuring long-term performance. Professionals should evaluate the direction of the wireway run and the required orientation of the elbow to preserve accessibility. The nVent F44LE45B is designed to work in conjunction with other nVent wireway components, including straight sections, tees, and reducers, to create a cohesive and functional system. Installation typically involves securing the elbow to the wireway using compatible fasteners and ensuring that the hinged cover is properly aligned for smooth operation. Why Choose nVent? How to Install the Lay-In Wireway

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and sealing a Lay-In Wireway for effective cable management.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gaskets, Nuts, Sealing plates

  1. Assemble the wireway sections

Place a gasket between the flanges of the wireway sections and secure them using screws and nuts as shown in the assembly details.

  2. Seal the joints

For joints between lay-in sections, position the LSGQR fitting, leaving out the top flange screw on the hinge side. Install the fitting with a shoulder bolt through the flange and ensure gaskets are visible from above.

  3. Install box entries

Make a cutout in the control enclosure for the wireway entry. Position the box connector and a gasket inside the enclosure, then install a 90° angle sealing plate as described in the sealing methods.

  4. Adjust telescope fitting

Assemble the compression ring, gasket, and retainer on the telescope fitting body. Insert the body into the straight section and adjust to the desired length, ensuring the gasket is properly seated.

  5. Anchor the telescope fitting

If the telescope fitting is used vertically, drill .25 inch diameter holes through the sides and bottom of the straight section and telescope fitting. Install .25−20x.5 screws and secure with cap nuts and lockwashers.
