How to Install the CDSC36328LG Concept Wall Mounted Disconnect Enclosure

Installation guide for mounting and wiring the CDSC36328LG Concept Wall Mounted Disconnect Enclosure. Ensure all functions, fits, and clearances are checked before and after installation.

Tools needed:

Drill, Screwdriver, Manufacturer's instructions for disconnect device, Manufacturer's instructions for door catch and interlock bracket

Supplies needed:

Disconnect device, Operating handle, Door catch and door catch bracket (if not supplied with enclosure), Superlube (p/n 99411823), M6 screw, Padlock

  1. Prepare the mounting panel

    Drill the mounting panel according to the manufacturer's instructions for the disconnect device.

  2. Install the operating handle

    Install the operating handle onto the enclosure flange in the provided holes. Follow the disconnect manufacturer's instructions.

  3. Install the disconnect device

    Mount the disconnect device onto the panel. Follow the disconnect manufacturer's instructions for installation and adjustment.

  4. Install the padlocking door handle

    Assemble the padlocking door handle on the outside of the door. Remove the M6 screw from the latch assembly, then remove the latch, insert, o-ring, and wave washer. Apply superlube to the handle and latch in the indicated locations. Reassemble the handle to the latch housing and re-install the M6 screw, torquing it to 38 in-lbs (4.3 Nm).

  5. Adjust the door catch and interlock bracket

    Adjust the door catch and interlock bracket to properly engage with the disconnect operating handle. Refer to the disconnect manufacturer's instructions for adjustment procedures. Note that in some cases, the handle manufacturer's supplied door catch may be necessary.

  6. Verify enclosure operation

    Ensure the enclosure door latches correctly when closed. The latch should push against the housing when the latch is in the closed position. To open the enclosure, turn the screwdriver slot 90° counter-clockwise while holding it, then turn the handle clockwise. To close, push the door and turn the handle counter-clockwise. The screwdriver slot will reset automatically. Install a padlock through the handle to secure the enclosure.
