How to Install the Sequestr External Disconnect Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Sequestr external disconnect enclosure to an existing control enclosure.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gasket, Hole seal

  1. Power Down the System

Turn off the local disconnect installed in the control enclosure and ensure all power to the enclosure is off. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) before proceeding.

  2. Prepare the Control Enclosure

Mark the mounting hole locations on the control enclosure based on the drill patterns provided. Drill, cut, and deburr the holes as necessary.

  3. Mount the Sequestr Enclosure

Remove the subpanel from the Sequestr enclosure and drill a hole for the power line entrance. Install the gasket and raise the Sequestr enclosure to the side of the control enclosure. Secure it using M6x20mm washer head cap screws.

  4. Install the Circuit Breaker/Disconnect Switch

Drill mounting holes in the panel for the disconnect switch or circuit breaker. Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions and secure the panel back into the Sequestr enclosure.

  5. Connect Wiring

Punch, drill, or cut holes in the control enclosure to allow wires to pass through. Connect the wiring from the load side of the circuit breaker to the existing wiring in the control enclosure.

  6. Power Up the System

Remove any protective coverings, ensure the operator handle is in the 'OFF' position, close and latch the Sequestr enclosure door, and restore power to the enclosure. Verify the system operates correctly.
