The enclosure's substantial dimensions (54.00x20.00x18.13 inches) are specifically sized to accommodate up to 800A cable-operated disconnect switches or breakers, with compatibility contingent on NEC 430.10(B) guidelines. Furthermore, it is meticulously designed to integrate seamlessly with nVent's popular main enclosure bulletins, including A35S, A28S4, and A21S4, ensuring a cohesive and secure electrical system. Constructed from high-quality SS304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, the Sequestr enclosure offers exceptional durability, corrosion resistance, and longevity, making it ideal for demanding industrial settings. Its construction ensures it can withstand harsh environmental conditions, including moisture, chemicals, and extreme temperatures, without compromising its protective integrity. The brushed stainless steel finish not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also provides a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. Installation is straightforward, with the enclosure designed for efficient mounting. For precise configuration, mounting details, and hole patterns, users are advised to consult the comprehensive installation manual provided by nVent. This ensures optimal performance and adherence to safety standards. How to Install the AXD542018SSC Disconnect Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the AXD542018SSC disconnect enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Drill, Multimeter, Wire strippers

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Gasket, Terminal connectors, Hoffman hole seal

  1. Power Down the System

Turn off the local disconnect installed in the control enclosure and ensure all power to the enclosure is off. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and test for power using a multimeter.

  2. Mount the Sequestr Enclosure

Remove the subpanel from the Sequestr enclosure. Drill holes in the control enclosure as per the provided drill patterns, then align and secure the Sequestr enclosure using M6x20mm screws from inside the control enclosure.

  3. Install Circuit Breaker/Disconnect Switch

Drill mounting holes for the circuit breaker in the panel, install the circuit breaker as per the manufacturer's instructions, and secure the panel back into the Sequestr enclosure using the saved hex nuts.

  4. Connect Wiring

Drill or cut holes in the control enclosure for wiring. Connect the load side of the circuit breaker to the existing wiring, ensuring to seal around the wires to maintain a Type 1 rating.

  5. Power Up the System

Remove any protective coverings, ensure the operator handle is in the 'OFF' position, close and latch the Sequestr and control enclosure doors securely, then restore power to the system.

  6. Verify Operation

Flip the operator handle to the 'ON' position and verify that the system operates correctly with the new electrical connection.
