Disconnect Operator Adapters for Preferred Cutouts, for A-B 1494V, Steel

How to Install the APCABVA Operator Adapter

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the APCABVA Operator Adapter for Allen-Bradley disconnects in floor-mounted enclosures.

Estimated time: 45m

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors

  1. Install the Allen-Bradley Small Operating Handle

Assemble the Allen-Bradley small operating handle to the enclosure flange, omitting the cap screw and lockwasher that fit into the bottom hole of the handle.

  2. Install the Slide Arm

Insert the slide arm through the hole in the bottom of the spring bracket and over the defeater part of the operating handle. Ensure the notch in the slide arm is positioned toward the door opening.

  3. Attach the Slide Arm to the Operator Release Mechanism

Connect the bottom of the slide arm to the offset arm of the operator release mechanism using two flat washers, two lockwashers, and two hex nuts. Do not tighten until adjustments are made.

  4. Adjust the Operator Release Mechanism

Check the adjustment of the factory-installed roller bracket to ensure the door latch hits against it when closed. Adjust the slide arm length so the safety lock releases just before the master door is fully latched.

  5. Install the Door Catch

Attach the door catch to the tapped spacer on the door using two screws and two lockwashers. Adjust the door catch to ensure it clears the defeater bracket when the handle is in the 'OFF' position.
