How to Install the APCCHVA Operator Adapter
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the APCCHVA Operator Adapter for Cutler-Hammer C361 and C371 mechanisms in Hoffman enclosures.

Screwdriver, Drill, Wrench
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Lockwashers, Flat washers, Hex nuts, Door catch
- Position the mounting plate
Place the mounting plate on the inside of the enclosure, behind the opening provided.
- Assemble the handle mechanism
Insert the Cutler-Hammer handle mechanism through the opening in the enclosure and the mounting plate, omitting the cap screw and lockwasher for the bottom hole.
- Install the slide arm
Insert the slide arm through the slot in the bottom of the mounting plate and over the defeater part of the handle assembly. Secure it with the shoulder collar and long cap screw.
- Attach the slide arm to the lock release mechanism
Connect the bottom of the slide arm to the offset arm of the lock release mechanism using flat washers, lockwashers, and hex nuts. Do not tighten yet.
- Adjust the slide arm assembly
Ensure the safety lock releases just before the master door is fully latched by adjusting the length of the slide arm.
- Install the door catch
Attach the door catch to the tapped spacer on the door using screws and lockwashers to prevent the door from opening when the handle mechanism is 'ON'.
- Drill and tap holes
Drill and tap holes in the panel as specified in the installation diagram and Cutler-Hammer instructions.
- Mount the switch or circuit breaker
Follow the Cutler-Hammer instructions to mount the switch or circuit breaker, ensuring to cut the connecting rod assembly as required.
