How to Install the AL2A Latch Kit
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the AL2A latch kit, ensuring proper mounting and functionality.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Drill, Screwdriver, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Nylon washers, Handle gasket, Latch rods, Roller pin, Retaining ring
- Drill holes for the latch
Locate and drill holes in the door from the outside edges using the dimensions provided in the installation guide. Ensure that you do not drill holes for rod guides.
- Install the handle gasket
Place the nylon washers and handle gasket on the outside of the door to ensure proper sealing. This step is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the latch.
- Adjust latch rods
If the latch rod is too long, select the appropriate hole and cut the latch rods approximately 3/8 inch from the center of the hole. Confirm the hole selection before cutting to avoid mistakes.
- Secure the roller pin
Insert the roller pin into the designated hole and secure it with the retaining ring. If the gasket compression is excessive, adjust the roller pin one hole at a time until the proper compression is achieved.
- Position the latch
Use the provided washers to position the latch by spacing it in or out as required for optimal functionality.
