Instructions for installing the single-point or three-point latch kit on an enclosure door.
Estimated time: 30m
Tools needed:
Drill, Measuring tape, Screwdriver, Pliers
Supplies needed:
Latch kit components, Nylon washers, Handle gasket, Retaining ring, Spacers
- Prepare the enclosure door
For single-point latch kits, locate and drill holes for the handle as shown in the diagram. For three-point latch kits, locate and drill holes in the door from the outside edges using the provided dimensions. Do not drill holes for rod guides.
- Assemble the latch mechanism
Assemble the latch kit components as shown in the diagram. Install nylon washers and the handle gasket on the outside of the door to ensure proper sealing. If installing a three-point latch kit, and the latch rods are too long, select the correct hole and cut the rods approximately 3/8 inch from the center of the hole. Ensure you have selected the correct hole before cutting.
- Install the roller pin and adjust gasket compression
Place the roller pin in the designated hole and secure it with the retaining ring. If the gasket compression is too great, move the roller pin one hole at a time until proper gasket compression is achieved.
- Position the latch using spacers
Use the provided spacers to adjust the position of the latch, spacing it in or out as required for proper alignment and function.
- Verify clearances and safety
Before energizing any circuits, verify that all internal and external electrical and mechanical clearances are checked to ensure that all assembled equipment functions safely and properly. This is critical to avoid electric shock.
