Overview

The **nVent Sequestr External Disconnect Package** (SKU: A90XD4020FTCLP) is a robust, Type 12-rated steel enclosure designed to enhance electrical safety by isolating incoming power from main enclosures during maintenance or servicing. Engineered for industrial environments where arc flash risk must be minimized, this pre-assembled package includes a disconnect switch and fuse block/circuit breaker, shipped as a single unit for streamlined new installations. The gray steel construction ensures durability against corrosion, impacts, and harsh conditions, while the NEMA Type 12 rating provides protection against dust, dripping water, and non-corrosive liquids—ideal for manufacturing plants, data centers, and commercial facilities where equipment reliability is critical. **Key Features and Benefits:** - **Arc Flash Mitigation:** By isolating power at the source, this external disconnect reduces the risk of arc flash incidents when servicing interior components, aligning with NFPA 70E and OSHA safety standards. The pre-wired design eliminates the need for on-site assembly, reducing installation time and potential human error. - **NEMA Type 12 Compliance:** The enclosure meets NEMA Type 12 standards for indoor use, protecting against environmental contaminants such as dust, fibers, and non-corrosive liquids. This makes it suitable for applications in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturing, where cleanliness and equipment longevity are paramount. - **Steel Construction:** Constructed from high-grade steel, the enclosure offers superior strength and resistance to mechanical damage, ensuring long-term performance in demanding industrial settings. The gray powder-coated finish provides additional corrosion resistance and a professional appearance. - **Pre-Assembled Convenience:** Shipped as a complete package, the disconnect switch and fuse block/circuit breaker are factory-mounted, with terminal connections designed for seamless integration into new electrical systems. This reduces on-site labor costs and accelerates project timelines. - **Versatile Applications:** The Sequestr External Disconnect Package is ideal for new installations in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and data centers where centralized power distribution requires safe, accessible disconnect points. It is particularly valuable in applications where frequent maintenance or upgrades are anticipated, such as HVAC systems, lighting panels, and machinery control centers. **Industry Applications:** - **Manufacturing:** Protects sensitive equipment in production lines by isolating power during maintenance, reducing downtime and enhancing worker safety. - **Data Centers:** Ensures reliable power management for critical IT infrastructure, where uninterrupted service and safety are non-negotiable. - **Commercial Buildings:** Facilitates safe electrical servicing in office complexes, retail spaces, and educational institutions, complying with modern safety codes. - **Healthcare Facilities:** Meets stringent hygiene and safety requirements in hospitals and laboratories, where electrical systems must operate flawlessly in controlled environments. **Installation and Selection Considerations:** When selecting an external disconnect package, professionals prioritize enclosure ratings, material durability, and ease of integration. The **nVent Sequestr** excels in all three areas, offering a Type 12-rated solution that balances protection, performance, and cost-effectiveness. Installation is straightforward, with clear terminal markings for power input and output, reducing the risk of miswiring.
