Overview

The nVent A86M3ELP is a robust, free-standing Type 12 multi-door enclosure designed to safeguard critical control and automation systems in demanding industrial environments. Engineered from durable steel and finished in a neutral gray, this enclosure provides superior protection against dust, dirt, and dripping water, making it an ideal choice for applications where reliability and longevity are paramount. Its substantial dimensions of 86.12 inches high, 112.00 inches wide, and 14.12 inches deep offer ample space for housing complex electrical and electronic components, including larger control systems. The 'LP' designation signifies a low-profile design, optimizing space utilization within the facility. This particular model features a three-door configuration, which is crucial for industrial settings requiring mechanical interlock functionality. Mechanical interlocks prevent simultaneous access to different sections of the enclosure, enhancing safety by ensuring that only one door can be opened at a time. This feature is vital for preventing accidental contact with live electrical components and maintaining the integrity of the control system during maintenance or operational adjustments. The absence of an internal panel in this specific SKU (A86M3ELP) allows for maximum customization and flexibility in component layout, enabling engineers to design the interior to precisely meet their application's unique requirements. nVent is a globally recognized leader in electrical enclosure solutions, renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and safety. Their enclosures are built to withstand the harshest conditions, ensuring the continuous operation of essential industrial processes. The Type 12 rating signifies compliance with NEMA standards for indoor use, offering protection against falling dirt and dripping water. This makes the A86M3ELP suitable for a wide array of industries, including manufacturing, processing plants, water and wastewater treatment facilities, and any sector where robust environmental protection for electrical controls is a necessity. Key benefits of the nVent A86M3ELP include: * **Superior Environmental Protection:** Type 12 rating ensures protection against dust and water ingress. * **Enhanced Safety:** Three-door design with mechanical interlock capability for secure access control. * **Spacious Interior:** Generous dimensions accommodate large control systems and complex wiring. * **Durable Construction:** Made from high-quality steel for long-term resilience. * **Flexible Configuration:** 'Less panel' design allows for custom interior layouts. * **Trusted Manufacturer:** Backed by the reputation and expertise of nVent. When selecting an enclosure for critical industrial applications, factors such as environmental conditions, the size and complexity of the equipment to be housed, and safety requirements are paramount. The nVent A86M3ELP addresses these needs comprehensively, offering a secure, reliable, and adaptable solution for protecting valuable control infrastructure. Its free-standing design simplifies installation, allowing it to be positioned optimally within the plant layout. Invest in the nVent A86M3ELP for peace of mind and uninterrupted operational efficiency.

How to Repaint a Hoffman Enclosure

Guide on preparing and repainting Hoffman enclosures with TGIC polyester powder coating.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

180 grit sandpaper, 220 or 240 grit sandpaper (optional), Solvent, Paint manufacturer's recommended tools

Supplies needed:

TGIC polyester powder coated Hoffman enclosure, Paint compatible with TGIC polyester powder coating, Primer (if recommended by paint manufacturer)

  1. Prepare the Surface

Thoroughly sand all enclosure surfaces with 180 grit sandpaper. If sanding marks are objectionable, finish sanding with 220 or 240 grit sandpaper. Wet wipe all surfaces with a solvent to remove any possible contaminants. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing the paint for adhesion.

  2. Select Appropriate Paint

Choose a paint that exhibits good adhesion properties over polyester powder. Recommended types include two-component epoxies, some two-component polyurethanes, and alkyd baking enamels. If using alkyd finishes, do not bake at temperatures exceeding 150°F to avoid discoloration.

  3. Apply Paint

Apply two or three medium to light coats of paint. Allow two to three minutes flash off between coats. Allow paint to cure adequately according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.

  4. Test Adhesion

After the paint has cured adequately, test the paint for adhesion. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing.

  5. Test Repainting Process

NOTICE: Always test the repainting process on an inconspicuous area prior to full application.
