How to Install the Sequestr External Disconnect Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Sequestr external disconnect enclosure to a control enclosure, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter, Drill

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Hoffman hole seal, Hoffman blank adapter plate

  1. Power Down the System

Turn off the local disconnect in the control enclosure and the feeder disconnect. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and test for power using a voltmeter.

  2. Mount the Sequestr Enclosure

Remove the subpanel from the Sequestr enclosure. Hang the Sequestr enclosure on the control enclosure using M6x16mm bolts and secure it with washer head cap screws from inside the control enclosure.

  3. Install the Circuit Breaker

Drill mounting holes for the circuit breaker in the panel. Install the circuit breaker and secure the panel into the Sequestr enclosure using hex nuts. Ensure wiring is properly connected to the incoming power side.

  4. Connect Wiring

Install conduit and wires to the incoming side of the circuit breaker/disconnect switch in the Sequestr enclosure. Ensure all connections are secure and compliant with safety standards.

  5. Power Up the System

Remove any protective coverings, ensure the operator handle is in the 'OFF' position, close and latch both the Sequestr and control enclosure doors, and turn on the feeder disconnect switch. Finally, flip the operator handle to the 'ON' position.
