How to Install the Sequestr External Disconnect Enclosure

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Sequestr external disconnect enclosure, including mounting, wiring, and initial setup.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Wire strippers, Multimeter, Drill

Supplies needed:

Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Hoffman hole seal, Hoffman blank adapter plate

  1. Power Down the System

Turn off the local disconnect in the control enclosure and the feeder disconnect. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and open the control enclosure.

  2. Remove Old Hardware

Remove the existing disconnect from the control enclosure and seal the hole using a Hoffman hole seal. Protect all components inside the control enclosure.

  3. Mount the Sequestr Enclosure

Remove the subpanel from the Sequestr enclosure. Drill a hole for the power line entrance, then hang the Sequestr enclosure on the control enclosure using M6x16mm bolts and secure with washer head cap screws.

  4. Install Circuit Breaker/Disconnect Switch

Drill mounting holes for the circuit breaker or disconnect switch on the panel. Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions and secure the panel back into the Sequestr enclosure.

  5. Wiring Connections

Connect wiring from the circuit breaker to the control enclosure. Punch a hole in the blank terminal block plate for wire passage and secure it with M6 nuts.

  6. Install Operating Handle

Attach the Sequestr operating handle to the enclosure flange following the manufacturer's instructions.

  7. Power Up the System

Remove any protective coverings, ensure the operator handle is in the 'OFF' position, close and secure the doors of both the Sequestr and control enclosures, then turn on the feeder disconnect switch.

  8. Verify Operation

Flip the operator handle on the Sequestr enclosure to the 'ON' position and check that the system operates correctly.
