Overview

The nVent Type 4 Enclosure (SKU: A74H60DULP) is a robust, two-door industrial cabinet designed to safeguard critical control systems, instrumentation, and electrical components in demanding environments. Engineered with a **Type 4 rating**, this enclosure provides superior protection against water ingress, dust, and non-corrosive liquids, making it ideal for outdoor installations, food processing facilities, and other harsh industrial settings. The **74.06 x 60.06 x 12.06-inch** dimensions offer ample internal space for mounting panels, racks, or custom configurations, while the **floorstand support** elevates the enclosure for easier access and cleaning beneath the unit—a critical feature in food-grade or washdown environments. Constructed from **high-grade steel with a durable polyester powder coating**, the nVent Type 4 Enclosure resists corrosion, UV exposure, and chemical cleaning agents, ensuring long-term reliability even in extreme conditions. The **continuous hinge with clamps** provides a secure seal and smooth operation, while the two-door design allows for convenient access to internal components without disrupting adjacent systems. This design flexibility is particularly valuable in applications where frequent maintenance or equipment adjustments are required. **Key Applications & Industries:** This enclosure is purpose-built for environments where **protection and accessibility** are equally critical. In **food and beverage processing**, the Type 4 rating ensures compliance with hygiene standards, while the elevated floorstand prevents contamination from floor-level debris. **Outdoor industrial sites**, such as oil and gas facilities or water treatment plants, benefit from its resistance to rain, humidity, and temperature fluctuations. Additionally, the enclosure is well-suited for **manufacturing plants, warehouses, and data centers**, where sensitive electronics must be shielded from environmental hazards without sacrificing operational efficiency. **Installation & Customization:** The nVent Type 4 Enclosure is designed for **easy installation and scalability**. The floorstand can be anchored to concrete or other stable surfaces, providing stability in high-vibration areas. Internal mounting options include **panel or rack configurations**, allowing engineers to tailor the interior layout to specific equipment needs. How to Repaint a Hoffman Enclosure

Guide on preparing and repainting Hoffman enclosures with TGIC polyester powder coating.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

180 grit sandpaper, 220 or 240 grit sandpaper (optional), Solvent, Paint manufacturer's recommended tools

Supplies needed:

TGIC polyester powder coated Hoffman enclosure, Paint compatible with TGIC polyester powder coating, Primer (if recommended by paint manufacturer)

  1. Prepare the Surface

Thoroughly sand all enclosure surfaces with 180 grit sandpaper. If sanding marks are objectionable, finish sanding with 220 or 240 grit sandpaper. Wet wipe all surfaces with a solvent to remove any possible contaminants. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing the paint for adhesion.

  2. Select Appropriate Paint

Choose a paint that exhibits good adhesion properties over polyester powder. Recommended types include two-component epoxies, some two-component polyurethanes, and alkyd baking enamels. If using alkyd finishes, do not bake at temperatures exceeding 150°F to avoid discoloration.

  3. Apply Paint

Apply two or three medium to light coats of paint. Allow two to three minutes flash off between coats. Allow paint to cure adequately according to the paint manufacturer's instructions.

  4. Test Adhesion

After the paint has cured adequately, test the paint for adhesion. Consult with your paint manufacturer for proper cure time and hardness prior to testing.

  5. Test Repainting Process

NOTICE: Always test the repainting process on an inconspicuous area prior to full application.
