How to Install the Sequestr External Disconnect Enclosure
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing the Sequestr external disconnect enclosure to a control enclosure, ensuring proper mounting, wiring, and initial setup.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill, Volt meter, Wire strippers
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Terminal connectors, Hoffman hole seal, Hoffman blank adapter plate
- Power Down the System
Turn off the local disconnect in the control enclosure and the feeder disconnect. Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and open the control enclosure. Test for power on the incoming side of the disconnect using a volt meter.
- Mount the Sequestr Enclosure
Remove the subpanel from the Sequestr enclosure. Drill and deburr a hole for the power line entrance. Hang the Sequestr enclosure on the control enclosure by inserting M6x16mm bolts into the slotted holes, then secure it with washer head cap screws from inside the control enclosure.
- Install Circuit Breaker/Disconnect Switch
Drill mounting holes for the disconnect switch or circuit breaker on the panel. Install the switch according to the manufacturer's instructions. Add wiring from the switch to the control enclosure and install conduit and wires to the incoming side of the switch.
- Power Up the System
Remove any protective coverings from components. Ensure the operator handle is in the 'OFF' position. Close and securely latch both the Sequestr and control enclosure doors. Turn on the feeder disconnect switch and then flip the operator handle to the 'ON' position. Verify that the system operates correctly.
