How to Install the A60X1E4018 Single and Multi-Door Disconnect Enclosure

Instructions for installing hubs, door catches, and ensuring proper panel mounting for the A60X1E4018 disconnect enclosure.

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Hole saw or Greenlee-type punch, Electric or air powered vibrating hammer, Small diameter punch

Supplies needed:

CSA approved, watertight, rigid conduit hubs, External toothed lockwasher, Nuts, Door catch (furnished by disconnect manufacturer)

  1. Prepare for Hub Installation

    Determine the required hole size and flat surface area for your conduit size using the provided table. Use a hole saw or Greenlee-type punch to cut the necessary holes in the enclosure for conduit entry.

  2. Install Conduit Hubs

    Install the CSA approved, watertight, rigid conduit hubs into the prepared openings according to the hub manufacturer's instructions. Ensure hubs are designed to fit standard conduit openings.

  3. Secure the Panel

    When installing the panel, position it on the studs that line up properly. Use a suitable screwdriver inserted through the panel holes to pry the remaining studs into position. Install the enclosed external toothed lockwasher under one of the nuts securing the panel to ensure bonding between the panel and enclosure.

  4. Attach Door Catch

    Fasten the door catch (furnished by the disconnect manufacturer) to the bracket that is fastened to the inside of the A60X1E4018 master door. Refer to the disconnect manufacturer's instructions to properly adjust the door catch with the disconnect operating handle.

  5. Handle Hinges (If Necessary)

    If removing hinge pins from continuous hinges, use a small diameter punch to drive the pin towards the bottom. Bend the protruding pin into a 'J' shape. Use a vibrating hammer with a suitable tool to drive the pin out while opening and closing the door. Reinstall the hinge pin by straightening it and driving it in with the vibrating hammer while opening and closing the door. Start the chamfered end first if applicable.
