How to Install the A243008LP Enclosure

Instructions for mounting and adjusting the A243008LP enclosure, including door and panel installation.

Estimated time: 1h

Tools needed:

Screwdriver, Punch, Vibrating hammer (electric or air powered)

Supplies needed:

Fasteners, Metal shims, Hinge pin

  1. Prepare for Mounting

Identify whether the enclosure is wall-mounted or floor-mounted. Wall-mounted enclosures have internal mounting means or external feet. Floor-mounted enclosures have floor stands with mounting plates. Ensure you have the proper fasteners for your chosen mounting method.

  2. Mount the Enclosure

Secure the enclosure to the wall or floor using the appropriate fasteners in all mounting holes. For floor-mounted enclosures, ensure the floor is level or use shims under the enclosure corners as needed. For wall-mounted enclosures, ensure the mounting surface is flat to prevent door issues.

  3. Adjust Door Closing (if necessary)

If the door does not open and close properly, or if it sags due to heavy equipment, adjust as follows: For single-door enclosures, place metal shims behind the bottom mounting foot closest to the hinge if the top of the door strikes the body opening lip. For two-door enclosures, place metal shims under the corners if the floor is not level, ensuring the doors meet evenly. Bolt the enclosure in place with doors closed before installing shims.

  4. Install the Interior Panel

When installing the interior panel, you may need to slightly bend mounting studs to align the panel. Position the panel on the studs that line up, then use a screwdriver inserted through the panel holes to pry the remaining studs into place.

  5. Remove or Invert Print Pocket

The print pocket on the door can be inverted or removed entirely as needed.

  6. Install Hubs and Devices

Use agency Type rated hubs or devices of equal rating to the enclosure. Ensure hole openings and installation follow manufacturer instructions. Verify adequate hole-to-hole spacing for tightening and that installation does not interfere with the enclosure's gasket or edges. Conduit connections should be on the top, bottom, and sides.
