How to Install the A1001YZUMC2 Enclosure Protection System
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and configuring the A1001YZUMC2 enclosure protection system to ensure safe operation in hazardous environments.
Estimated time: 1h
Tools needed:
Screwdriver, Drill, Wire strippers, Multimeter
Supplies needed:
Mounting screws, Tubing connectors, Enclosure warning nameplate, Tamper-proof regulator
- Mount the enclosure protection system
Transfer the mounting hole pattern of the system's mounting plate to the intended surface. Drill and deburr the mounting holes, then secure the system using four (4) 1/4" x 3/4" stainless steel bolts, nuts, and lock washers.
- Connect the protective gas supply
Install the protective gas supply header tap within twenty (20) feet of the enclosure protection system. Connect the protective gas supply tubing to the system supply fitting, ensuring all fittings are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
- Install enclosure supply and reference connections
Drill and deburr holes for the enclosure supply and reference fittings on the protected enclosure. Mount the fittings, then route and connect the tubing from the enclosure supply to the protection system, ensuring proper seating and securing the tubing as needed.
- Configure the system
Verify that the system is mounted at eye level and clear of all access points. Install the enclosure warning nameplate in a prominent position near all enclosure accesses, ensuring compliance with NFPA 496 requirements.
- Test the system
Before finalizing the installation, conduct a bench test of the system to ensure all functions operate correctly. Use a multimeter to check electrical connections and verify the pressure settings with the tamper-proof regulator.
