How to Install the Panduit Industrial Distribution Frame (IDF) ZDF242430-6

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for installing and setting up the Panduit Industrial Distribution Frame (IDF) model ZDF242430-6, including mounting, wiring, and initial configuration.

  1. Unpack the IDF

    Carefully unpack the IDF enclosure and remove any shipping materials, including the miscellaneous carton on top of the IDF.

  2. Mount the IDF

    Open the front door and center section of the IDF. Use the provided mounting hardware to secure the enclosure to the wall using the six holes on the wall section.

  3. Install Power Connections

    Install an outlet box compliant with local IEC standards on the right side of the lower base plate. Pull the plant power through the conduit into the outlet box and terminate the power and ground according to local IEC code.

  4. Install Fiber Trunk Cables

    Pull the fiber trunk cables through the conduit into the enclosure. Route the cables through the Panduit duct and install them into the FRME1U Fiber Enclosure according to the installation instructions.

  5. Install Copper Trunk Cables

    Pull the Switch-A trunk cable through the conduit into the enclosure. Route the cable up the left side of the rear backplane and secure it using the provided Tak-Ty and D-ring.

  6. Install UPS

    Install the UPS in RUs 2 and 3, ensuring it is supported by the horizontal bar on the rear rail. Connect the ground cable to the UPS and route the UPS power cord through the designated openings.

  7. Install Switches

    Install the Copper Switch A in RU 7 and connect it to the patch panel in RUs 5 and 6. Repeat for Copper Switch B in RU 11, following the manufacturer's installation instructions.

  8. Complete Configuration

    Attach the power cords for both switches to the UPS and ensure all connections are secure. Follow the switch installation instructions to complete the setup.
